A rich color palette

IRIS PETROL WOOL RUG

Swedish nature and folk art are reflected in the collection’s color palette with hues such as deep red, blue, light yellow,
dark ochre, and forest green, combined with undyed white wool and black details. “We wanted to step away from pastels
and felt a longing for more rich, intense colors. That’s what led us to Röllakan in the first place,” says Malin Glemme,
Creative Director and CEO at LAYERED.

Röllakan: A Traditional

Swedish Weaving Art

A Traditional
Swedish Weaving Art

The traditional Swedish Röllakan rug is a woven rug characterized by its geometric and stylized patterns, often
inspired by plant and animal motifs from folk traditions. Originally, Röllakan rugs were woven at home by women as
part of the farm’s own craftsmanship and are often inherited as family heirlooms. With the new Röllakan collection,
LAYERED has revived these classic elements and given them a modern and harmonious expression.

On historic grounds

On historic grounds

As part of the creative process for our latest collection, the Layered team recently visited the historic Danielsgården
in Bingsjö. This charming location, known for its rich cultural heritage and well-preserved folk art from the early 1800s,
has deep roots in Swedish craftsmanship. Danielsgården has also inspired famous artists like Carl Larsson, who visited
the farm several times during the late 19th century, drawing inspiration for many of his renowned paintings.
